Description of actual services provided:
Encon worked on a feasibility study for the conversion of a portion of the Combined Heat and Power Plant (CET 1) in the city of Iasi to a gas turbine-based CHP technology. Encon provided assistance to the Iasi city officials in facilitating the transfer of the ownership of the plant to a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and presented this business opportunity to strategic investors. The project will involve replacing equipment installed in the 1960’s with modern high-efficiency heat and power production technology. Technical measures and ownership changes proposed by Encon aim to improve the financial health of the CET Iasi and to bring the plant’s operations into compliance with EU regulations regarding thermal efficiency and stack emissions.
