Description of actual services provided:
The Sofia Municipality envisages the plans to renovation and reconstruction of substations, boilers and domestic heating systems in more than 700 municipal buildings. The project’s aim is to minimize the heat losses caused by outdated equipment and heating systems. The buildings are situated in all of the 24 regions of the Sofia Municipality and include schools, kindergartens, nurseries, hospitals, and retirement homes. Encon provided the following services:
- Performing site visits, to understand each building’s condition and collect initial information
- Analyzing the initial data and coordinating it with the existing plans of the Metropolitan Municipality in terms of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources (RES)
- Identifying and prioritizing the energy efficiency and RES measures
- Assessing the investment needs and the energy savings achieved
- Preparing and forming an evaluation plan, in accordance with the proposed measures, as envisaged in the agreed "Action Plan for Sustainable Development of Metropolitan Municipality 2012 - 2020"
- Preparing recommendations for improving the condition of substations, water boilers and heating installations on municipal buildings in accordance with existing legislation
