Encon provided technical and financial consulting services to ROMAG-TERMO under a USTDA project aimed to determine the most cost effective technology for bringing the CET Drobeta CHP plant into compliance with Romanian and European Union statutes governing SO2 emissions. Part of the technical assistance identified the most beneficial method for disposing of the gypsum byproducts that result from wet flue gas desulphurisation. Encon was responsible for plant investigation and determination of critical requirements, analysis and preparation of conceptual design, financing assessment, finalizing the flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) system design and preparing bidding specification, environmental and developmental impact assessments.
